Laurentiu Niculescu

Founder of Temporra and director of Alpha IT Solutions Ltd, the London company that makes it. He writes the Temporra guides.

What he does

Laurentiu is a software engineer. He builds Temporra and looks after the Linux servers it runs on, so the person who wrote the clock-in code is also the one who gets the call when something breaks.

He built the parts of Temporra that the guides keep coming back to: clocking in against a job's GPS boundary with a face check, timesheets and approvals, worker invoices, CIS statements and the payroll export. STF Electrics, an electrical contractor, was the pilot partner and ran each version on its own sites before anyone else saw it.

Before moving into software in 2025 he spent two years in first-line IT support for small businesses, usually with the client standing over the machine. He's also studying for a BSc in Software Engineering at the University of Greater Manchester.

About the guides

The guides cover the working-time, pay and record-keeping rules UK employers run into once they start tracking hours properly. Each one links the legislation and the gov.uk or Acas guidance it relies on, so you can check the source rather than take our word for it. Each shows the date it was published.

He isn't a solicitor or an accountant, and none of it is legal advice. Where an answer depends on your contracts or your circumstances, the guide says so and points you to Acas or a qualified adviser.
